3 Reasons to Make the Switch to Safer Beauty & Please Welcome our New Contributor, Karli!

I gotta admit, it’s a BIG day for me and my ‘little blog that could’… I feel like every day is offering me a brand new “never in a million years would I have thought” moment. To speak of my blog as a team is pretty amazing and I’m overwhelmed to announce that I’ve found the most amazing gal to join HISTK as a contributor, I’m so excited for all of you to meet her!

A few weeks ago, I put out a call for help with the Natural Beauty section of HSITK and so many awesome ladies threw their hats into the ring, but one really stood out. I connected with Courtney of Cookin’ up Life, through our shared love of healthy food and black labs on social media a few years ago. Courtney sent me an email that her sister, would be and amazing fit for HSITK’s new contributor position and BOY-O-DAY was she right!

Thank you so much Courtney!

Karli and I hit it off right away, I felt like I’ve known her for years after our first conversion. Bringing her onto the team was a no-brainer. Behind the scenes we’ve been brainstorming a bunch of healthy fabulousness and I’m so excited to see where we can go together in this new season for HSITK.

Now don’t get me wrong, this is so new and so different… we’re just feeling our way through her new role.  While initially I had thought I’d want to just hand off some beauty stuff to a contributor, our relationship is quickly growing her role, but for now, I’ve asked her to share with all of you her WHY when it comes to cleaner, safer beauty and skincare products (since that’s what initially brought her to the team).

P.S. One last thing. When you’re reading Karli’s post (below) make sure you imagine it in the sweetest southern accent, I could listen to her read me the phone book and enjoy every minute!

Please join me in welcoming Karli to the HSITK Team!

3 Reasons to Switch to Safer Beauty Products

Hey y’all! My name is Karli, the voice of Healthy Homestead Mama. I’m beyond thrilled to be jumping on board with Hayley & HSITK to help spread the word about cleaner, safer beauty & so much more!!

First, a little bit about me – I’m a wife (to Karl, my Canadian hubby), first time mama (to Klaire, our precious homestead honey), & healthy lifestyle fanatic.  We have a golden retriever (Gus) and a rescue dog (Buddy) that complete our little family. I enjoy sharing about our life on the family homestead in Alabama, natural parenting, and healthy recipes over on my blog, Healthy Homestead Mama.  I’m crazy about all things clean beauty & have a passion for sharing about it with others.  This stems from my background in Nutrition/Food Science as well as Education.

I’m all about DIY beauty on the homestead y’all, but I’m also about combining it with my borderline obsession for Beautycounter!

Here are my Top 3 Reasons for Making the Switch to Safer:

#1 MY HEALTH

“If our skin is our largest organ, shouldn’t we CARE about what we put on it?”

That is the exact questions that I asked myself the day I decided to join the Beautycounter movement and become an advocate.

Over the years, my husband and I had become more & more aware of how important it was to choose and use top quality foods and products in our home.

As I was going through my first pregnancy, my sister introduced me to Beautycounter sunscreen. We were lucky enough to go through our first pregnancies together and share resources with one another. As time passed, I realized that I had been missing a huge area of my life to “clean up” y’all!

#2 MY FAMILY

After becoming a mama, I was introduced to a whole new world of researching what was best for our precious daughter, Klaire. Wouldn’t you know that Beautycounter’s baby line was by far, the safest for our newborn?!

Over the past year, I have officially fell in love with the enitre Beautycounter line & the rest is history.

Now that Klaire is a toddler, she has moved up to the big girl line, aka the kids line.  Now – Don’t get me started on my feelings about the whole “moving up” transition.  The beauty of watching your child grow up is amazing, but sure can be tough on this mama’s heartstrings.

My husband & I both have our own Beautycounter favorites that we keep on hand around the homestead, too.

#3 SPREADING THE WORD

All in all, everyone’s story is different & has special individual meaning.  Often times, we simply need a little push from a friend (or sister) to try something new.  For some, they just need to know there are safer options out there.

For me, I truly believe we can make a difference in the life of anyone willing to learn.  Maybe you’re that first time mama with a newborn or maybe a retired Grandma who is wanting to improve her overall well-being??

This is what makes me happy – helping others learn how to take control of their own health & wellness through self-education.

Of course, it’s awesome to be able to earn an income from sharing with others about these amazing products, too.

BUT most importantly, I get to be apart of Beautycounter’s team of powerhouse women, like Hayley, and help spread the word.

Here’s an excellent video that gives you a glimpse into the thought process behind the movement straight from the founder and CEO (and fellow mama), Gregg Renfrew.

Since getting on board, I have been eagerly telling everyone I know about Beautycounter. My entire family is in full support and we are all able to share the BC love these days.

In the weeks to come, I hope that I can continue to share with y’all everything that I know (and continue to learn) about Beautycounter!

Feel free to leave me your thoughts and questions!
