Best ways to plan party events

Planning a party or event can be lots of fun – but it can also cause some unnecessary stress if the proper plans aren’t in place. If you want to put an event on, but don’t know where to start, we’ve got some things you can think about before you get started.

These are the best starter questions to ask yourself before you get into the details of the event. How can I make party themes look as realistic as my favorite movies or those prestigious casino venues that feature nostalgic online slots that guests can enjoy? What items do I need? What should the menu look like? Once you’ve decided on these things, the rest of the event should fall smoothly into place.

It might seem like there’s a lot to do, but the beauty is in the planning. Once that is all out of the way, the only thing left to do is to enjoy your successful soiree.

Think of a theme

One of the most important things to start off with when you’re planning a party is to think of a theme. A theme can dictate what people wear, what games to expect at the event as well as the general vibe of the night.

Picking a theme is therefore one of the easiest ways to set expectations when you’re the one planning the event. Choosing your theme means that your guests will know what to expect when they arrive so there’s no disappointments or unconfirmed expectations.

If you’re stuck on what theme to have, we have a couple of ideas. If it’s a holiday-based party, you can have your theme based on that holiday – like a Christmas or Easter party. Even if you’re just having people over to watch a big sporting event, the event could also be the theme to make things easier.

If you’re going for a classier evening affair, you want to choose something like a casino-themed night. People can swap their night in playing games, for a real-life casino game night. It’s easy to host as most of the casino games you play are cards based – although you might have to think again for the slot games!

People can get a little bit more dressed up and get to know each other by playing all the different games. This is a great choice if you’re combining a couple of different friendship groups.

What kinds of decorations do you need?

Once you’ve decided on the theme of the party, it’s now time to move on to the decor. Now, if you’ve gone for a more relaxed theme, there’s probably no need to go and buy a load of new stuff. You can stick some candles out or get out the nice glasses and leave it at that.

But if you’re doing a fancier night, or a night with a strict theme, you might need to put a bit more effort in. You don’t need to spend a lot of cash to do so either. Lighting is one of the easiest ways you can change up the vibe in your home and adapt it to the theme.

You can buy different coloured lightbulbs that just slot into the light fixtures that you already have, meaning you can store them away once you’re done with them. You can get them relatively cheaply which is great when you’re on a budget.

Fairy lights are another way to spruce up your party venue – and are also budget friendly. If you’re going all out, you could look into hiring some props that fit your theme for some fun picture opportunities for your guests. Or you could also ask your guests to bring their own and see what people can find laying around.

Food and drinks

The next thing on the list is sorting out food and drink. You’ll first have to decide what you’re going to be supplying for everyone. Drinks are pretty easy to supply – at least a couple of bottles of whatever you’re planning on drinking. However, food is what can make events a little more complicated to put on.

If you want there to be food, but don’t want the hassle of cooking everything, you could always suggest a potluck. Everyone can bring a dish of some kind and contribute to the party. This can be made in line with the theme as well to make it a bit more interesting!

If you don’t want a whole meal at the party, supplying nibbles is your best option. You can put some snacks out on a table, and everyone can help themselves. This is something else that people can contribute so don’t be shy about asking your guests to bring something along.

The food and drink you need will also depend on what time of day you’re having the event. People don’t tend to need food if it’s later on in the evening but having a day event means there should definitely be some kind of sustenance supplied.
