Is your mouth watering? I know mine is!
While this post itself isn’t “sponsored” it IS a recipe that I originally developed as a part of a collaboration with my friends at Green Mountain Gringo that was featured on my Instagram. Since it was SO EXTREMELY popular I wanted to make sure that this deliciousness is easy for you to find long-term here on my blog!
What are Mexican Burgers?
Mexican burgers are a fusion of an American burger with all the deliciousness of Mexican cuisine. Kinda like a taco burger only on a bun, does that make sense?
Regardless of how you describe them, Mexican Burgers are absolutely addictively delicious and your whole family will LOVE THEM!
Mexican Burger Ingredients
To make this Mexican burger recipe, here are the ingredients that you’ll need:
- Ground Beef
- Salsa

What salsa is best for making Mexican Burgers
Ever since I first worked with Green Mountain Gringo back in 2019, I’ve sincerely enjoyed their salsa and found myself keeping it stocked in my pantry. So I really and honestly, authentically suggest trying theirs. You can pick Mild, Medium or Hot, depending on how much spice you want!

How to make Mexican Burgers
Making Mexican burgers is so easy! Here’s the step by step instructions…
To get started using your food processor, crush tortilla chips to a bread crumb consistency.

Next combine your ground beef mince with the crushed tortilla chips and salsa in a bowl and mix well.

Shape the seasoned ground beef mixture into patties. The beauty of using salsa and chips IN you burger mixture is that you incorporate so much taste from just 2 ingredients; no need to add extra salt or flavorings!

Cook your burgers as desired, I personally love a grilled burger! But they can be prepared on the stove top, air fryer or in the oven, too.
Top each burger with a slice of pepper jack cheese. Place on a bun and garnish with fresh cilantro, avocado and MORE SALSA!

By adding salsa and crushed tortilla chips, you’ll immediately notice that the burgers are soft and juicy (even if you prefer yours extra well-done).
If you are looking for some extra HEAT to add to your burgers try my Ground Cherry Jalapeño Hot Sauce or my Fermented Mango Habanero Hot Sauce
Of course you can also top your burgers with onion, tomato, lettuce and even guacamole (in place of sliced avocado) too!
What to serve with Mexican Burgers
