Salmon Meatballs with Dijon Lemon Sauce
I can’t even fathom that I now have 2 amazing recipes for Salmon Meatballs here on HSITK! My latest recipe for Salmon Meatballs with Garlic Lemon Cream Sauce only happened because I had ground wild caught salmon but not capers – so I couldn’t make my wildly popular Salmon Meatballs with Caper Dill Tarter Sauce.
I love it when I’m forced to be creative in the kitchen!
Even if it is by force 🙂
And they are totally delicious looking, right? The vibrant salmon with the creamy dijon lemon sauce topped with fresh chopped chives! (Chives no less than came right out of our garden!)

Wonderful! Added spinach to the sauce and served it over low carb fettuccine (Low Carb Bread Co).
Delicious! Followed this recipe tonight with no alterations and it was fabulous!
This is awesome! I made it with coconut milk and pre-packed frozen salmon meatballs from IKEA (like a cheater) and it was so fast and delicious. Thank you!
Sounds delicious. Thanks for posting this.
I am going to try these with canned salmon…..please is anyone has, let me know so I can learn from you. also I will post how mine turn out…
Susie, let us know how they work out for you.
Made this recipe with canned salmon this past weekend. Turned out great!
Terese – Good to know! Of course, everything tastes better when you use fresh ingredients, but other than the salmon, all the other ingredients are things I have on hand at any given moment. With salmon in the cupboard, this can be a last minute go to meal! Thanks for letting us know!
hi,
can you make these with canned salmon? because i only have frozen salmon on hand and i have no idea how itll turn out after thawing
You are welcome to try adapting the recipe how ever you’d prefer. I personally don’t think they will turn out the same, cooked salmon used in the meatballs will make them more like salmon patties.
I am making this today! How might I grind the salmon? – In the food processor? Thank you.
I purchase my salmon already ground but you can grind it with a meat grinder or gently pulse in your food processor. You don’t want it to become mushy just tiny bits.
They were delicious! I ended up pulsing (about 15 secs) together the salmon, chives, and cooked onion and garlic. The food processor did a great job of mixing everything then I added the remaining ingredients in a bowl to make the meatballs. Thank you for the easy and yummy recipe!
