I’ve been making homemade Coconut Oil Lotion for about 2 years and everyone I’ve shared it with, has agreed that it’s AH-MAZ-ING! I just “Whipped” up a big batch and started handing them out to friends/family as holiday gifts today!
Here’s all you need:
You can substitute any all natural lotion that you like.. but I love-love-love the smell of this lotion! It smells like coconut, pineapple, and the beach! And it contains all natural, organic ingredients!.
Whip your solid coconut oil with your mixer until light and fluffy, then add in the lotion and continue to whip until well incorporated. Since the Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Shea Butter Lotion is really thick and doesn’t like to come out of the bottle easily, I cut the bottle open (using a bread knife and a sawing motion) to get out the last of the lotion. By putting your whipped lotion in a baggie and cutting off the tip, you can fill up your containers with out making a mess (I use 1/4 pint canning jars).
