Homemade Corn Tortilla Chips
Wow your family and friends, make corn tortilla chips from scratch! Yes, it’s easy and they are better than store bought (cheaper, tastier, and healthier!)
Here’s what you need:
- Homemade Grain Free Tortillas (click HERE for my recipe) Homemade Corn Tortillas (click HERE for my recipe), Cilantro Lime Tortillas (click HERE for my recipe)
- Organic Expeller Pressed Coconut Oil (buy HERE), Tallow, Lard or Palm Oil
- Celtic Sea Salt (buy HERE)
In a low sided skillet (preferable cast iron) heat about 1/2 to 3/4 in of coconut oil over medium/high heat (approximately 350 degrees)… Cut your tortillas into 6 or 8 wedges… Fry tortilla wedges in a single layer, turning so that both sides are lightly brown. Remove crispy chips from the oil and place on a paper towel lined plate, season with sea salt.
I like to have these with a quick guacamole: Mash up 1 avocado, juice of 1/2 a lime and Spicy Seasoned Salt, to taste. Yummy! Enjoy!
