Which Ninja SLUSHi Model is Best for you?

There are 2 versions of the Ninja SLUSHi available; By default, I recommend going with the Professional Version.

  • FS301 – Offers a wider range of preset programs 5 in 1, including five options: Frappé, Frozen Juice, Slush, Spiked Slush, and Milkshake. It has a larger capacity; which can slush 52 ounces of liquid into 88 ounces of frozen beverage. FS301 is the Professional model, retailing $349.
  • FS300 – Comes with three presets 3 in1: Slush, Spiked Slush, and Milkshake, leaving out the Frappé and Frozen Juice settings. It has a smaller capacity; which can slush 42 ounces of liquid into 72 ounces of frozen beverage. FS300 is exclusive to Walmart, retailing $298.

With the $50 price difference, larger capacity and more functions, I feel the Ninja SLUSHi Pro version is a better deal but if you want to save $50 the Walmart version is perfectly functional for everything I have made in it.

  • Avoid pre-mixed cocktails in a bottle. They are finicky and difficult to freeze. For example, instead of buying pre-mixed margarita mix with tequila mixed in, buy separate margarita mix and a bottle of tequila for best results.
  • Zero Sugar and artificial sweetened drinks don’t slush. This means you can’t just dump in a bottle of Diet Coke and get a frozen Diet Coke. Sugar is what makes the slush, well slush. You can experiment or find recipes designed to be low sugar and work great. When in doubt, read the recipe guide that comes with your machine.
  • 100% Booze won’t slush – alcohol alone won’t freeze there is special balance you need of mixer and spirits to make the perfect slush. Again, find recipes or consult your instruction manual for more info. If you MUST have a drink stronger than the Ninja SLUSHi will freeze, add a floater of booze on top of the finished drink in your glass.
